Harga emas pada awalnya turun, pada awal perdagangan sesi AS hari Rabu, di tengah memanasnya inflasi AS dan karena kekuatan bearish harian di luar pasar emas yaitu naiknya dollar AS dan turunnya harga minyak mentah.
Namun dalam perdagangan selanjutnya, dollar AS berbalik melemah sehingga memberikan dorongan naik terhadap harga emas. Emas berjangka kontrak bulan Agustus naik $13.20 ke $1,739.20 per troy ons. Sementara perak berjangka Comex bulan September turun $0.048 ke $18.92 per ons.
